January 23 - February 3. "Poetry Asia". Visual poetry |
 | | | «POETRY ASIA» In the frames of the project “Platform”; visual poetry Curator - Eter in the small hall | | | | | | The “Platform” Exhibition is a unique project of the net cooperation of authors and curators which was opened in the winter of 2003/2004 with simultaneous expositions in several cities of the world: Kaliningrad, Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev, Chicago, Warsaw, Penza, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov. The aim of the project is to perform phenomena of visual poetry and works by acknowledged and young authors. Because visual poetry is not wide-spread in Russia, the task is rather actual. Russian spectator doesn’t know world recognized authors that is why it is very important to show their works at least in digital form. For foreign visitor the exhibition is interesting, too. It is an attempt to combine technology of net cultural project with idea of visual “transportable exhibition” where the original of a piece of art disappears as it is being substituted with presentation of its digital copy. The exhibition is dedicated to VISUAL POETRY OF ASIA. Because of the long history of synthesis of text and visual art in this region, this exhibition is actual not for those who meet such art for the first time only, but also for those who has been working for long with European and American visual poetry. This theme combines artists not only from Asia.
