Mikhail Gnedin was born in Leningrad in 1981.
Studied for 9 years at School 245, for 3 years at the Russian Lyceum of Traditional Culture, finished Bachelor’s program at Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I.Gertsen.
Artist of the third category specializing in painting on wood, teacher of graphic arts, designer.

«Mankind slowly moved from primitive symbol patterns to “high” and complicated intelligent forms, but gradually people refused exquisiteness in art, architecture and lifestyle. City outskirts are real “concrete jungle’’. To some extent we’ve become closer to the Paleolithic age than people in the previous centuries. Ancient art has become actual again. Industrial space already has its history, thus it should have mythology. Children are born in dormitory districts, and a sight of a central heating plant is as natural for them as the sun above. And a kid’s answer to the question “Where do clouds come from?” is “From those chimneys. Isn’t it obvious?!”

Industrial space builds industrial consciousness. If one imagines that a person hasn’t seen anything except these primitive forms of factories, heating lines and blocks of houses, which idea of the “beautiful“ will he have? How will he try to express his desire to be free, what will metaphysical landscape look like? I’m trying to imagine the world in the “Age of Concrete and Plastic” with its religion, dreams, images and, of course, aboriginals, me being one of them».
