Katia Petrunina was born in 1978. As a child she changed many places ue to her father's work, and that was the travel bug's first bite.

Katia studied drawing since her childhood. In 2005, she graduated from t. Petersburg Academy of Art and Design and moved to Moscow to work s a graphic designer. Since the beginning of her studies she has been ravelling a lot, in Russia, Europe, North Africa, Middle East and sia. She is interested in history, languages, music, architecture, ovies and museums. She goes to Venice to see the Biennale on a egular basis. Having become a free-lancer, she started spending most f time in Asia, escaping from the cold Russian winter and finding nspiration in local cultures. She stayed for a long time in India, ali and Thailand, and has visited over 60 countries. Sometimes Katia eets like-minded people and joins their projects. On the artistic Koh hangan island she gave some master classes on plain air drawing to ussian downshifting designers.

During her travels, Katia developed passion for drawing beautiful iews around her and started choosing only the routs where it was ossible to find traditional or colonial architecture. The size of her ictures slowly grew from a tiny little notebook to mighty A1. onsequently, her baggage grew too, and she even got in trouble at some airports. She has a collection of beautiful traditional Thai and ndonesian bags for carrying  huge papers and numerous markers and pens. Because travelling is not the safest lifestyle for paper, xperiencing tropical rains and hurricanes, Katia's art has a charming atural touch of decay. Katia had her drawings exhibited in Russia, ermany, France and the USA. The rest of the world is in her plans.
