Kari Yli-Annala (b. 1965): 
 
I am a visual artist, lecturer, researcher, coordinator, curator, writer and part-time teacher of moving image. The venues of my activities vary from "field work" to magazines and books, museums, galleries, festivals and special projects. As an artist my areas of interest are experience of time, memory, contemporariness, poetry of a place and fragility of life. My works have been shown in media art festivals (EMAF in Osnabrück, Germany) and special venues of experimental moving image (Anthology Film Archive, New York) and my work "A Life of One's Own" belongs to the collection of Kiasma, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki.
 
SWARM OF PLANES is an installation made of hundreds of miniature plastic airplanes of different colours. It is a manifestation of the little powerful forces inside the human being and in the world itself. Swarm is an expression of desire that moves us and the world around us. Since the planes are all war machines it reminds us also that the passionate powers can be also destructive and that in some level there is always a kind of war going on inside and outside of a sensuous and living human body.

Artist Jukka Hautamaaki (b. 1971)

Born in Oulu, live and works in Helsinki, Finland. Hautamaaki works with found materials, electronics, sound and video. His installations, video  and sound works have been exhibited, screened and performed in Europe and North America.

Hautamaaki investigates the interaction between nature and man, observing simple things, such as how the wind expresses itself or what the rustle of tree branches sounds without branches. Hautamaaki uses consumer goods, such as video cassettes or stale bread, as the material of his works. The emphasis is often on the reciprocal dynamic between the individual works and on the overall mood.

Sirpa Jokinen (b. 1962)

Sirpa Jokinen has BFA degree from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts and MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. The media she uses varies between sound, objects, photographs and drawings. The technique of the latest installations have been based on  finding alternative ways to reproduce sound and in this way listening to the space. Her latest work was a sound performance "Where are you know?" in a happening of seven simultaneous performances in the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki in May 2012.

Drawings depict abstract movements. The soundtracks are recorded from real setup situations of movements, that were inspired by the drawings.

Sanna Sarva (b. 1964): 
 
I am a visual artist interested in the question of identity, language and communication in general. My techniques vary from photos to moving image and text and many of my works have been site specific. 
I graduated (MA) from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 1998. My works have been shown in several exhibitions in Finland (e.g. Fractures of Life in 2005 and ARS 01 in 2001 in the Museum of Contemporary Art, Kiasma, Finnish National Gallery, Helsinki) and abroad (e.g. Tirana Biennale, Albania and Le Mois de la PHOTO ? Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 2001 and Manifesta 3. Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2000).

Besides my artistic practice I curate and write about art as well. My next curatorial project Facing the Death will take place in the Finnish Museum of Photography in 2012.  I?m a regular writer for the Finnish art magazine Taide.

GLIMPSES INTO AN APARTMENT is a study of an apartment seen through a fisheye lens. Different rooms of the apartment are shown through peepholes attached into dark lacquered wood panels. As in TV reality shows the viewer is offered carefully selected bits of constructed reality. The viewer has no chance to know if the images are staged or real.

"My latest series of works "SYSTEMA NATURAE" bring under consideration interactions of human, society and nature, but also creates a wider network of references. Installations of the series deal with through the clarification, the structuring and re-evaluation often rather controversial concepts and views related to human relationship with nature. At the same time works discusses ability of art to describe the human relationship with nature truthfully".

Tuomo Kangasmaa (b.1965)
Media Artist

Lives and works in Kemi, Oulu
Tuomo Kangasmaa has studied fine art and experimental dance and theater. He belongs to the Finno-German artist Hildegard Projekt-group, which is currently preparing an exhibition project in Berlin. Kangasmaa has included dance, performance art and theater quality sound and images. Recently, he has been interested in performance art, documentary and traditional cinematic expression combinations. In his aphoristic video works Kangasmaa is seeking original, authentic feel.
Tuomo Kangasmaais is a graduate of Institute of Design and Fine Arts of of Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Finland and ArtEZ Institute of the Arts Arnhem, The Nederlands.
Kangasmaa has participated in exhibitions and festivals at home and abroad (including domestic and foreign exhibitions and festivals ("Loose Candy - Musical media art," from Kiasma musaperjantait 2012, Helsinki 2011 and the "Wasp Factories," a collective art project, Edinburgh Art Festival, Scotland, GB)

"My project is the photo compilation or collage taken by cellular phone. Common in all photos is the description of the instrument, which is no longer coherent with the photo camera and technology traditions. The phone could be described as fully automated annotation tool stores the location information specified the machine. 
Diluted significance of the moment seen in these pictures can be distributed through social media. Some of the images of the work have been deposited for personal enjoyment, a note or a message to friends of the jorney".
