Linoleum engraving
In the halls of the Gallery

Ilya Zelenetsky was born in the town of Kolomna, Moscow Region. In 2002, he graduated from the Ryazan’ Art School with the specialization “painting”. In the same year he came to St. Petersburg and entered the Artistic and Industrial Academy, to the department of monumental and decorative painting. Now, he is a student of the last year of education.
Linoleum engraving is rather rare technique. In the engravings by Ilya Zelenetsky there is an obvious influence of Piter – the city new for the author and beloved by him, an air of Mit’ki and strictness at once. The works are merry, even a bit hooligan’s; they suit to the image of youthful and fresh perception of the city. Limited means of self-realization (the works are monochromatic and not thoroughly detailed ones) give bigger ponderability and persuasiveness. He has no need to squander his gift. Everything is specific and solid and clear. You may stay if you are of the same kin; if not — better go away at once…
