Daddy’s Gold

“My father taught me to save not only wounded animals from calamities but also small toy dolls. If an animal dies, we are crying and bury it, but if a doll is crushed with a truck, we take its details. We can play with them or draw them.
When I was a little boy, I asked daddy to make me a wooden Buratino doll. Daddy made it but couldn’t fashioned a head for it. So I played with a headless doll.
Tramps sold sometimes buttons without holes, hairless toothbrushes, baby-dolls without legs. But we can invent something interesting to do with them. Still-life, for instance. My mother calls it rubbish. But I believe they are tiny treasures. Child takes it for amusement, objects for observation and development.
Daddy’s rubbish, my toys are freaks, invalids which are out of usage for the most f the people. But they are beautiful. Somebody calls them shit, somebody calls them gold.
Daddy’s gold”.
